Instructions – The news feed
All events, publications, grants etc. should be entered as ‘posts’ in the news feed. You can also put selected (or all if you wish) publications on you personal page.
All posts are divided according to their category, which you need to specify when you create the post.
Currently the categories are:
| Internal | For internal announcements, not these are only labeled internal, they entirely public so be careful what you post. Optionally you can mark these as private using the visibility options in the right hand bar. |
| News | All new related posts belong to this and one of its sub-categories. |
| …Events | All events organized by or attended by vision-lab members. |
| …Grants and Funding | Grants and funds received by group members. |
| …Opportunities | An job openings, studentships or similar being advertised by group members. |
| …Publications | Any publications of group members. |
| Uncategorized | Unsorted |
You should set the category (right hand menu options) to both news and publications using the check-boxes. This will allow the publication to be detected by the correct feed. If you are adding an old publication you should edit the publication date (‘Publish immediately Edit’ menu option) to back date the publication so that it goes in the correct place in the feed.Events, Grants etc.Events are published in the same manner, using the new category and the events category.
